Wk 2 shutter self directed task

In this task I had to take a series of portraits of someone standing still paying attention to the background with different shutter speeds. This picture was taken with a shutter speed of 1/100th of a sec which is a fast shutter speed here my camera is on a tripod but I could've hand held it as it isn't under a 60th of a second. I have also made some adjustments in camera raw using the basics panel.
f/3.5
shutter speed: 1/100
ISO: 100

This is my second image I took using different shutter speeds here I used a 1/60th of a second I put it on the tripod but I could've hand held it as it isn't under a 60th of a second. The image looks dark I did shoot inside but had my ISO at 100 with ambient lighting I think I couldve taken my ISO up abit to bring more light onto my subject. I have also made some adjustments in camera raw using the exposure slider in the basics panel I increased it to bring more detail into my subjects face as well as the background.
f/4.0
shutter speed: 1/60
ISO: 100

In this image I used a shutter speed of 1/10th of a second which is a slow shutter speed to avoid camera shake I had my camera on a tripod. I also used the basic panel in camera raw to make adjustments to this image I used the exposure slider again as my subjects face was poorly lit in a room that had ambient lighting coming through I think I should have increased my ISO to bring more light onto my subject.
f/9.0
shutter speed: 1/10
ISO: 100

In this image I used a really slow shutter speed of 1"3 I had my camera on the tripod and my focus point on his face but because my subject moved in the time it was taking to capture the photo he moved making him not appear sharp but blurry.
f/22.0
shutter speed: 1"3
ISO: 100

In this task I had to take a series of photos with a moving subject paying attention to the background and also using different shutter speeds. In this image I used a shutter speed of 1/250th of a second which is quite a fast shutter speed my subject was riding his bike but I was able to freeze his movement using this shutter speed. I also opened this image in camera raw using the spot removal tool I took out the little pink bike that was in this image.
f/22.0
shutter speed: 1/250
ISO: 800

In this image I used a shutter speed of 1/100th of a second my subject is moving you can kind of see a bit of motion blur in his foot but I was also able to freeze his movement using a fast shutter speed. In this image I also used the spot removal tool in camera raw to take out the bike that was pictured in the bottom right hand corner.
f/22.0
shutter speed: 1/100
ISO: 800

Here I used a different shutter speed as well a shutter of 1/60th of a second when zoomed up on the image you can see that the subject has motion blur which is the effect you get when you capture a moving subject using a slow shutter speed here I have my camera placed on a tripod because it is at 1/60th of a second.
f/22.0
shutter speed: 1/60
ISO: 800

I used a much slower shutter speed to take this image you can see motion blur in the moving subject I had my camera on a tripod because the shutter speed was below 1/60 which made the moving subject appear blurry while everything around it was sharp.
f/22.0
shutter speed: 1/30
ISO: 800

Here I used a really slow shutter speed leaving my camera on the tripod I took the image using a shutter speed of 2 sec.
f/22.0
shutter speed: 2 secs
ISO: 200

Using the TV mode on my camera I had to take a photo using a shutter speed of 1 second or longer and get someone to walk through the shot in  a darkened area or at night this is the effect I got.

In this image I set my camera up on the tripod because I was going to be using a slow shutter speed of 1 sec I got my subject to walk through the shot and captured this motion blur.
f/22.0
shutter speed: 1sec
ISO: 1600

I took another picture of my subject this time I put the focus point on my subject and had her walk this is the effect I got when she started walking I like taking these kinds of photos i think they are very interesting when the subject is blurred but everything else in the photograph is sharp.
f/22.0
shutter speed: 1sec
ISO: 1600

Light drawing exercise

This was a fun exercise we did at night I set the tripod up put my camera on and did my settings I used a slow shutter speed of 2 seconds I used a lighter put it infront of the camera and put the focus point on the flame I captured the image and just moved the lighter around and got the effect of the light moving because i used a slow shutter speed.
f/25.0
shutter speed: 2 sec
ISO: 6400

  1. Hi Huia
You have some very good photos on your blog. For your Digital Technology final mark I'm not seeing enough evidence of adjustments made during self directed time. Can you go back through your Camera Use blog posts and make sure two or three photos for each post have been edited? You can include screenshots of before and after and if you have used more than one panel to make adjustments write down what adjustments you made in bold
