Vantage point in photography is the different angles or views in which an image has been taken.
Birds eye view is taken from a high vantage point or a general view from the top and a worms eye view as seen from below.
Vantage point can also be recognised as high or low angle shots.
Low angle images can exaggerate the height of tall subjects where a high angle shot can make the subject seem vulnerable because the camera looks down on the subject from a high angle.
In class we did an exercise on vantage point. We had to position our subjects so that there was something in the foreground which means something in the front of the image we also had to have something positioned in the mid ground which is the middle of the photo and then something in the background. I enjoyed this task as it taught me also about the different vantage points we had to shoot. These were high and low angle images these were fun it really allows me to explore with different techniques. I found the high angle images to be my favourite mainly because it did something to my subjects it made them look little when I photographed them from a high angle.
Henri-Cartier Bresson was a French humanist photographer and was considered master of candid photography.

I like the way Henri-Cartier has composed this shot the angle in which he shot it makes the subject stand out more than the other people positioned in the mid ground giving it a narrow depth of field.

I like the composition of this photograph with the subject focused in the foreground also giving the image a narrow depth of field because the subjects in the mid and background and blurred. I also like the look of the tall buildings that you can see in the background as well as the light post situated in the mid ground gives it a unique look.
Brassai
Brassai was a Hungarian photographer and best known for his dramatic images of "Paris at night". He also done photography during the time of the world wars.
Paris at night- I enjoyed this series I loved the lighting of the photographs and how it lit up certain areas of the streets but still had darkened parts as well also the wide and narrow depth of field he has incorporated into his images where he has the subjects positioned is what i like the most.
