Week 5: colour research

Colour- Is the suitable use of colour in photography that gives a dynamic element to your images and is also satisfying to the eye. Bold colours and bright composition result in images that come out great and they also sell. Colour in photography can also help tell a story (visually) and it can also be used to communicate on emotional terms, colour can be the factor for making an image feel exciting, mysterious or even a little sombre.

In this image you can see how colour can set the mood for an image when I look at this photograph it looks lively it brings happiness because of the bright colours used in this picture and also the background blends in with the colours of the clothes hanging on the line.

In this image you can see how it gives the photograph a little sombre feeling with the dull colours in this image it makes me feel like something is going to happen it also kind of makes me feel like its going to start pouring down with rain I like how colours can really affect the mood of an image.

When talking about Focal Length in photography it is the length of the lens and the image sensor when the subject is in focus. Focal lengths are usually stated in millimetres

This is an image of Princess Diane of Wales here she is situated in the middle of the frame I like the black dress she's in it shows texture and also separates her from the white background.

'
I like the colours Mario Testino has used to photograph his subject I can see complementary colours in her dress the red and green also I like the yellow background I think it gives the image mood.

His photographs of celebrities while working at Interview magazine gained him recognition and he has now done several work for top designers and celebrities.

I like image it really sets a mood with the colours that have been incorporated there are contrasting colours for example the blue and yellow also the black and yellow colours that have been used for this image. I cant see to much complementary colours but I do like the big hand that blends in with the colours on the motorbike. David LaChapelles use of colours in his photography really brighten everything up.

I picked this image because the pink in the image is really bright I like how he has broke the pink using green and bits of black in his image I can see contrasting colours of black and yellow and also complementary colours of the red flowers on the floor and the green in the witches clothing.
