Week 1 self directed task

In week 1 I was away sick with the flu, so this week I have caught up with my self directed research task in this task we had to look through the websites that Caryline had found for us.

In this task we had to find three artist models that used the same techniques that I am incorporating into my portfolio work this term. 

From the websites I looked at I found a photographer by the name of Tasneem Alsultan who did a series of images documenting the life of a maid in Saudi Arabia. 

In this image I can see texture from the mirror in the back and also pattern from the tiles. This picture looks like the photographer was standing slightly to the right and not straight on. This image makes me feel like the technology world has taken over with everyone more interested in whats going on on their cellphones. I think the genre of this photography fits into would be documentary and staged.

These images are of staged documentary photography I initially thought thats what I wanted to do but over the weeks I have since changed my mind a second time. I now feel comfortable taking images of people in there natural environment.
